Q: What does PhVusion Effects do, exactly?
A: PhVusion Effects allows you apply preset effects to video clips shot with your VDSLR such as the Canon 5D Mark II, the Canon 7D, the Nikon D3S, etc.. It is a fully integrated script that works within Adobe Photoshop that prepares your video clips for use with www.ANIMOTO.com or any video editing or slide-show application. It is ideal for photo/video fusion projects that incorporate your stills and video clips together, giving the video clips a similar and stylish look.
Q: Will PhVusion Effects work on both Mac and PC?
A: Yes. PhVusion Effects is an Adobe Photoshop script and will work on both platforms with the same installer.
Q: Will I be able to add transitions and build an actual video in Photoshop?
A: While Adobe Photoshop does have limited timeline capabilities, it is not a video
editing program. PhVusion Effects is designed to allow Photoshop actions and filters to be applied to your VDSLR video files and then render them back out to a new video file for use in fusion projects or services like www.animoto.com.
Q: Will PhVusion Effects allow me to apply multiple effects to a single video clip?
A: Yes. PhVusion Effects offers one-touch effecting and "stacking" of effects. You can see a demonstration of this in our tutorial video at 6:58.
Q: Is PhVusion Effects a stand-alone program?
A: No. The beautiful thing about PhVusion Effects is that it works directly within the Adobe Photoshop interface. There is no need to even leave Photoshop to start editing your video clips.
Q: What versions of Photoshop does PhVusion Effects work work with?
A: Because PhVusion Effects needs Photoshop's video handling abilities in order to function, it will only work with Adobe CS3, CS4, and CS5 Extended.
Q: Will I be able to adjust the length of my video clips?
A. Absolutely. PhVusion Effects allows you to trim the start and end points of the video file and render out only the used portion of the clip. You can see a demonstration of this in our tutorial video at 3:36.
Q: Will I be able to batch import my video files?
A: Yes. PhVusion Effects will prompt you upon launching to select one or more files using already opened files or by selecting your files from Adobe Bridge. You can see a demonstration of this in our tutorial video at :53.
Q: What is "rendering" and how does it work?
A: Rendering is a term used in video for building and in this case exporting the effected video file. Rendering will take the original video file, apply the effects you choose and make a new .MOV file from the new start and end point you select (if any.) Rendering in PhVusion Effects also allows you to choose between 1080P (1920x1080) or 720P (1280x720) HD formats. It will automatically down-scale the footage for easy uploading.
Q: Will I be able to batch render out of PhVusion Effects?
A: Yes. Phvusion Effects will allow you to apply all of your effects to multiple video clips and then render them all out at once. You can see a demonstration of this in our tutorial video at 15:19.
Q: Will I be able to preview my effects when applied?
A: Yes. PhVusion Effects will instantly show you the effect you have applied on the original video file you opened.
Q: Will I be able to grab still images from my video clips?
A: Yes. PhVusion Effects has a feature that allows you to choose a frame of video and export it to either .jpg or .TIFF format. You can see a demonstration of this in our tutorial video at 5:42.
